Busy little Hannah

Last Monday Hannah turned 11 months old. That means one month until her first birthday. That means I only have one month to do all the things I said I was going to do by her first birthday. So I decided I was going to start working out. I really had good intentions. I had spent time thinking about how I could add a workout to my day. I reminded myself that if I just get started, it'll be easy to get back on the wagon. I was ready to go. As if Hannah knew I wanted to exercise more, she turned up her busyness. She's such a sweetheart. She's so much more mobile now. She's crawling and pulling up and getting into EVERYTHING. (I'm not yelling, just emphasizing). We are way overdo to baby proof the house and she is making sure I'm aware of this. So while I haven't gotten back on the treadmill or pulled out my workout DVD, I am counting chasing her around as a workout. I hope it gets me the results I want by her birthday. :)

52 Fridays: Vintage

Okay this week's theme stumped me. I couldn't think of a way to relate "vintage" to miss Hannah. In fact the only thing that comes to mind when I think of vintage is The Vintage Pearl. I'm a fan of their jewelry and I was super excited when my best friends got me a necklace with my Hannah's name and birthstone. I love it and I wear it all the time. Hannah is also a fan, but for a different reason. She enjoys chewing on it. It's actually like a pacifier. She's content to lick on my necklace for as long as I'll allow it. Works great in church. :)

I wanted to do a Father's Day post, but we were too busy enjoying our family time. Quarter doesn't read my blog (to my knowledge) so I'm not going to do a tribute to him here. (Although I do believe he's an awesome father. I appreciate the fact that he adores our baby girl, that he loves spending time with her, that he works so hard to take care of us. He is doing an amazing job of being Hannah's poppa. A father-daughter bond is unlike any other. It blesses me to see them enjoy one another.) With that said, I just wanted to share some never before seen pictures of Quarter and Hannah.

52 Fridays: Textures

Hannah really gets a kick out of touching different textures. She has to touch the brick whenever we come in or go out of the house. She likes to scratch and touch the texture on our walls. She loves her little NooNoo wool mini blanket. (Thanks Kala!)

I was just starting this post when Hannah woke up from her nap. I was able to get some pics of her exploring some of these textures.

She's also exploring new textures in food. Yesterday she tried beets and really enjoyed them.

52 Fridays: Books

Hooray for books! We like books at our house.  Hannah and I go to story-time at the library every week. I'm not sure she enjoys the stories as much as she enjoys the social time. This week, she even felt comfortable enough to get down on the floor with the other kids. (She's normally one of the youngest there, so she stays safely in Mommy's lap.) 

Hannah likes when we read to her, she like books with funny sounding words. She likes the "lift the flap" books. She likes the pictures. But what she really likes is how they taste. She's gnawed on nearly all her books. Poppa even let her "play" with the phone book. (After her taste test, she tore out quite a few pages. Because that's fun too and hard to do with board books.)

We are also participating in the summer reading program. We check out books weekly and we are on track to get the prize. Yay! Hope, a photographer extraordinaire, captured Hannah and I at the library one Friday. She managed to catch a moment when Hannah was sitting still. I honestly don't recall that moment. It was an interesting story, so I'm glad to know she heard some of it. ;) 

Just For Fun

I literally have thousands of pictures on my phone of Hannah. I keep my phone with me at all times, because I never know when she might do something I want to capture. Here are a few fun ones...

52 Fridays: New

It's fun to watch Hannah discover new things. She has a "first" or new experience every day. I haven't done the best job of documenting all of her "firsts", but since this week's theme is new I'll at least try to document this week.

Sunday: I was able to pull some of her hair into a cute little pigtail.

Monday: My sweet little Hannah gave mommy a kiss. She didn't quite have the mechanics down, but she leaned right in and touched her mouth to mine. And then she was off. It was so sweet, it just melted my heart.

Tuesday: Hannah perfected a new move my sister Ashlie calls "doing the Stevie [Wonder]." She shakes her head back and forth, left to right. This started on Monday, but by Tuesday, she had it down. We aren't sure what she's doing, I suspect she might be dancing. She enjoys it and does it all the time now. 

Wednesday: At storytime Miss Corey blows bubbles for the kids, but Hannah isn't able to chase the bubbles yet. So this week when we got home, I took Hannah out and blew bubbles for her. This wasn't our first time blowing bubbles, but this was the first time she really got into it. I blew them directly at her and she LOVED it. She screamed and laughed so loud, I know all the neighbors heard us. It was the cutest thing. I tried to record it, but she wanted me to hold her with one hand and the bubble wand with the other. So my video isn't great quality.  

Thursday: We read a new book from the library. I try very hard to pick books that will hold her attention. Chimp and Zee's NOISY Book by Catherine and Laurence Anholt, seemed to do the trick. The book is short, but all about noises. Hannah enjoyed hearing mommy make silly noises. I enjoyed watching her enjoy the book. 

Friday: Hannah learned how to chew on her tongue. She makes this popping noise, like she's chewing gum. It's really funny and super cute. Well everything she does is cute...expect whine. :)
